Friends of Hempstead Plains holds scheduled tours and volunteer community
workdays in the fall and spring. These events are free and open to
everyone; members, supporters, students, and the general community. Dates
are published in our newsletter and on the website.

• Lectures and programs are scheduled off site at specific times throughout the year.

• There are many volunteer opportunities. Prairie management help is needed in cutting woody shrubs, removing non-native species, mowing selective areas, collecting seeds in the fall, and occasional office work.
